Cabaret-style at the Metropolis

Since his performance in Métropolis in 2007 as part of the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, Jesse Cook has taken part in a number of large-scale events and festivals, along with dominating the genre charts with Café Mocha, the single from his remarkable Frontiers album. After a stay in Colombia where he finished up writing for The Rumba Foundation, his eighth album, in collaboration with Los Gaiteros de San Jacinto, the master guitarist unveiled the songs on a major outdoor stage during the 30th anniversary of the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, accompanied for the occasion by distinguished guests. Following the release of his latest album, fusing vallenato and rumba flamenco, Cook kicked off a tour scheduled to run through spring 2010, taking him not only through the U.S. and Canada, but to Sardinia, the Republic of Malta, Ireland, Turkey and Poland. That impressive itinerary amply testifies to the international renown of this excellent musician.
